This year THUNDERBOX is celebrating a major milestone with a bunch of new products that call back on their history and inspirations. Continuing the celebration they've announced a new upcoming collaboration collection that also honors the 40th anniversary of video game icon Takahashi Meijin's career which is set to drop in early May.

Takahashi Meijin (real name Toshiyuki Takahashi) was a major figure at video game developer Hudson Soft in its early days, becoming something of a company mascot and even starring in the Takahashi Meijin no Boken Jima (Adventure Island in English) series of games. In addition to innovating a wide range of marketing activities including the Hudson Caravan tournament series, he was famed for his fast trigger finger capable of hitting 16 shots per second in games like Star Force and Star Soldier on the Famicom.

To celebrate his legendary career in the Japanese gaming industry, the new collection from THUNDERBOX will include a series of 5 enamel pins, a new T-Shirt, mesh cap, and sticker design. Alongside the release of these new items, Takahashi Meijin himself will appear at THUNDERBOX's Nakano-based flagship shop, NAZO NO MISE, to meet with fans and sign autographs on May 3, 2025.

The item designs have not been revealed yet, but we expect more details to be revealed as we get closer to the release date.
