SQUARE ENIX MUSIC earlier this week announced an all-new take on their previously mysterious original character, Krystelle, brought to life as part of a collaboration with their Discord community and illustrator Kunitaro. Originally debuting in SQUARE ENIX MUSIC's "Mellow Minstrel" chill mix by DJ Kenta in March 2022, and later becoming the face of the ongoing “Chill SQUARE ENIX MUSIC 24/7” livestream, the character largely remained a mystery until now.

Earlier this year, SQUARE ENIX MUSIC put out the call to their Discord community to bring the character to life, sharing previous iterations of her design and tasking members with submitting their suggestions for her name, hobbies, favorite food/drink, fashion style, and her special skills. From these submissions, the top-voted selection would ultimately be chosen alongside several pre-determined features to be illustrated by Kunitaro and made into an all-new character. 

While initial illustrations and designs have been shared for the character, as well as an update made to the “Chill SQUARE ENIX MUSIC 24/7” livestream to feature this new look, SQUARE ENIX MUSIC reports that there’s plenty on the horizon for this character.
