The Pokémon Company announced today that the Hiroshima Pokémon Center will be closing at the end of March to be relocated to a new location at the north exit of Hiroshima Station in April 2025. Not content to just move the shop, as is the case in most locations with Pokémon presence, the station will also be seeing additional decorations featuring popular monsters from the franchise.

Alongside the new location for the Pokémon Center, a Gyarados-themed play area called Gyarados Plaza will open on the rooftop of the new Minamoa building in Hiroshima as well. Gyarados is the representative Pokémon for the area, so the play area will feature a large Gyarados slide along with other features based on its pre-evolution Magikarp and decorations with other theme-appropriate Pokémon.

The original Pokémon Center Hiroshima location opened back in 2015 to much fanfare, this new location is sure to attract just as much attention. An opening date for the new location still hasn't been announced, but Gyarados Plaza will be open on the grand-opening day of the Minamoa building March 24, 2025. Reservations will be required for Gyarados Plaza for a period of time following its opening to maintain crowd control.
