Music Awards Japan 2026 announced, moves to Tokyo
scrmbl NewsroomSep 15th, 2025

After the overall positive reception to the first Music Awards Japan held earlier this year in Kyoto, it should come as no surprise that show organizers CEIPA would be moving forward with a second year. While the general announcement isn't anything super exciting, it is a pleasant reveal that next year's entry in the new awards show will be taking place in Tokyo at the newly built Toyota Arena Tokyo. No date was given for when the show will take place yet.

It's still a bit early to speculate as to how things are going to shake out for next year, but being in Tokyo I think it will be fair to assume there will be considerable more celebrity participation by virtue of being such an entertainment epicenter. We'll be looking forward to more announcements as the year goes on, and especially interested in what the nominations are going to look like for 2026. Hopefully they're taking some of the public feedback into account for next year.
