Mega Victreebel revealed in the latest update on Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A

The next entry in the Pokémon video game franchise is due out on 16 October, 2025 and Game Freak is finally treating fan to some looks at new elements being included in the game. Mega Evolutions were announced as returning quite some time ago with new forms being expected from fans, but so far not much in that vain has been revealed. Aside from the very divisive Mega Dragonite design that was revealed in a previous Nintendo Direct, we've been waiting to see which other Pokémon are going to get the psuedo-evolution treatment.

Today we got a peek at one more such Pokémon with Mega Victreebel being revealed via a short trailer video. The design takes the menacing looking creature which had been given a comic relief role in the anime, and gives it a big goofy update with the ability to bathe its opponents in toxic ooze. This is one Pokémon design that comes a bit out of left field but to be honest it's pretty great. It's light hearted, fun, and still looks like it can do some damage.

We're excited to see what other megas Game Freak has up their sleeves as we get closer to the game's release date on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
