Set to open on June 8, 2025, 'Hot Sauce Bar Tokyo' positions itself as Japan's first craft hot sauce store, located in the Harajuku area of the capital.
Originally launched as an online store in 2019, 'Hot Sauce Bar' offers a curation of both imported and domestic hot sauces, until now making itself available at over 300 pop-up locations since its conception.
While Japan has long had its eye set on 'geki-kara' mania, the readily-available selection of hot sauces outside of staple names like Tabasco has been a problem that's long plagued those looking to get their at-home spicy fix in the country. Hot Sauce Bar Tokyo should be a welcome change to those who want to get a taste of the more extreme side; offering in-store tastings alongside drinks.
