Popular comedy duo DOWNTOWN have come out of nowhere and announced a new streaming service to start in November called DOWNTOWN+. The new service will exist as a home for a huge collection of past DOWNTOWN related content from television shows and movies featuring the duo, as well as programs that only feature the individual members Hitoshi Matsumoto and Hamada Masatoshi.
The service will also launch with newly made content from Hitoshi Matsumoto, marking his return to the entertainment industry after nearly 2 years away following a series of sexual assault allegations. Subscriptions will run ¥1,100 per month or ¥11,000 annually.

We're probably not alone in thinking that the world really doesn't need another streaming service in the year of our lord 2025 (especially with the current economy), but DOWNTOWN is a massively popular duo so we're sure there's an audience out there for it anyway. Interested parties can apply for access starting on 24 October, 2025 ahead of its November launch date.
For more information, check out the service's official website.
