It's that time of the year, and Comic Market (Comiket) has officially come to a close. Celebrating 50 years of activity, the grassroots doujinshi event has continuously grown year-over-year and is recognized as the largest fan event in the world.
Announced late last night, Comiket 106 saw an attendance of over 250,000 participants from over 71 unique countries. While this is a decline of roughly 50,000 participants compared to Comiket 105, this number is still massively impressive given the major renovations occurring at the venue, resulting in a loss of 6,000 booth spaces, coupled with this being a Summer Comiket, and this year's heat being particularly brutal.
The After Report by the Representatives has started in South 1 Hall. Anybody who stayed through Teardown is welcome to listen to a recap of the event.

Over 2 days, 250,000 participants from at least 71 countries (as far as we are aware) and regions have participated in C106 https://t.co/lwYG00hOcz
From a total of 700 attendees in 1975 to over 250,000 just fifty years later, it's both exciting and terrifying to think where Comiket will go from here.
